What is the relationship between propensity scores and sufficient statistics? I just came across the idea.

Could you be more specific? As asked, your question is not meaningful, as sufficient statistics relate to a statistical model and a dataset, while propensity scores are conditional probabilities. – Xi'an Dec 4 '11 at 18:29
Yes I think the answer may be that there is no relationship. Propensity scores are used to match pairs in studies such as case-control studies whereas sufficiency is a property of a statistic that depends on a parameter in a statistical model. I don't see any connection without a specific context. – Michael Chernick May 4 '12 at 12:16
