What does it means when someone say that:

This value is defined as a factor of t of the RMS deviation of datapoints in the cluster from the centroid

Well, the RMSD between two vectors is defined here, but what does it mean when we say that a given value is a factor of t of the RMSD of datapoints from the centroid ?

Any chance you've got a bit more context for this? – Matt Krause Apr 29 '12 at 22:29

first I am sorry for my English. I spent lot of time with the same question (implementation CluStream algoritm, where the sentence was heard also in the process). If you have the same problem, the answer can be found here: http://www.cs.waikato.ac.nz/~abifet/MOA/API/_clustream_kernel_8java_source.html .. there is source code similar project and answer is very easy .. good luck ...

Please, provide more explanations in plain english or with math formulas. Unless I misunderstood the question, the OP is not asking for a particular implementation. – chl Mar 30 '12 at 21:37
@chl and lukas, I've actually read that from the CluStream paper, but if you can give a simple explanation of what the author meant by "a factor of t of the RMS deviation of datapoints in the cluster from the centroid" it will be more easy for me to understand than the java implementation that you provided. – shn Mar 30 '12 at 22:50
