I'm trying to calculate Orwin's fail safe n but cannot figure out all of the terms in his equation - specifically, how is the critical value of d calculated?

Thank you

I assume you are referring to this paper: Orwin, R. G. (1983). A fail-safe N for effect size in meta-analysis. Journal of Educational Statistics, 8, 157-159. Where in that paper does it mention anything about a "critical value of d"? Or do you mean the criterion d value? – Wolfgang Aug 21 '12 at 13:09
