I'm a voracious consumer of SO answers; mostly these days I'm interested in perl and R (with a specific focus on ggplot2.)
I work in marketing as a digital strategy chap. I do not write code for a living (and while I'm inordinately proud of my efforts, I will never be particularly good at it.)
I can see that I'm never going to acquire any reputation here, and have gradually made my peace with that. I'm also prepared to put up with losing reputation in order to receive help.
While I'd like to be able to show my appreciation once in a while by voting up answers that have been useful to me, I can see the benefits in not letting people like me anywhere near the moving parts.
