In Stata, why do the stcox CI differ when using margins? The error would be probably quite surprising here. Stata 12's release announcement mentions that: "... Graphs of margins, marginal effects, contrasts, and pairwise comparisons. Margins and effects can be obtained from linear or nonlinear (for example, probability) responses. New command marginsplot is available after stcox, stcrreg, and streg. ..." So perhaps it is possible, just my solution is clumsy? |

In Stata, why do the stcox CI differ when using margins? @andrea lincom is a good choice indeed. The reason I wanted to explore margins was to get the access to marginsplot which can be (I think) very useful in exploratory work with lots of data/models.. |

In Stata, why do the stcox CI differ when using margins? @timbb Thanks for input. The second option gives the correct HRs, the CIs problem stays however :/ Would it be possible to use expression and/or predict to ge tthe correct CIs as well? |

Calculating life expectancy in Stata @Keith: Dataset is perfectly prepared for st commands - I'm working regularly with stcox and streg commands on it. Not sure about the transition from st-set data to ltable and handling its results though. Thanks for the link - seems to be down (for me) at the moment, but will have a look. |

Calculating life expectancy in Stata @lejohn: Starting point will be individual level records from cohort study. Working now on getting age/sex specific mortality rates and person years. |

Calculating life expectancy in Stata @lejohn: Yes, I'm. But the manuals for those commands are not answering my question so far. I was looking for something easier to digest for a novice - tutorial, example code with comments or even book chapter. |
