Differences What could cause big differences in correlation coefficient between Pearson's and Spearman's Correleation Cofficientsfor a given dataset?

The Pearson's coeffcoefficient between two variables is quite high (r=.65). But when I rank the variable values and run a Spearman's correlation, the coffcofficient value is much lower (r=.330). What is the interpretation of this?

Differences between Pearson's and Spearman's Correleation Cofficients

The Pearson's coeff between two variables is quite high (.65). But when I rank the variable values and run a Spearman's correlation, the coff value is .3. What is the interpretation of this?
