Jun 8, 2015 at 15:55 | comment | added | Boris Nikolov | Dear Dave, I've spend the last days trying to use your implement and work with your suggestions but they don't seem to provide the answer that I'm looking for or perhaps I am not able to understand how to do it. Would you please suggest some more information on the question? I would like to detect the points where the defrost cycles start and end just as in the picture but in a more accurate way. Perhaps a time window might be useful? Any comments are much appreciated! Thank you in advance!

Jun 5, 2015 at 14:06 | comment | added | Boris Nikolov | Thank you very much Dave! However, I did not manage to understand the last part, I am not actually trying to predict future values but to detect within the current data frame. Of course, it would be valuable if I can predict as well. Can you please specify how the algorithm works, what's the logic behind? Forgive me but I am a kind of new with statistics so I'm learning on the go.
