But, well... not to be too much of a brat, but one might respond by asking if unjustified assumptions of linear relationships and unjustified hemorrhage of statistical power are necessary. But I will instead say you're not wrong to raise this critique: there's a trade off, and "how little can we get away with knowing" is not a bad value (among others) to guide one's analytic approach. | |
