I am analysing habitat use vs. availability by a bird species and have been using 'Manly selection ratios' (3rd order selection) to graph the preferences of 9 different habitats. I also wanted to include the 'Compositional analysis' when writing my report up as it nicely ranks the habitats by preference. However, I have some questions that have been confusing me for ages:

  1. Why do the two tests throw up completely different results in some cases? Can I include both in the same report?

  2. When the habitats are ranked in the compositional analysis can I retrieve the p-values etc... and other statistics to include in my report if they seem to be significant / insignificant?
