I am having a lot of trouble understanding the difference between the two decomposition methods: twitter and stl.

https://www.rdocumentation.org/packages/anomalize/versions/0.1.1/topics/decompose_methods

https://github.com/business-science/anomalize

decompose_twitter(data, target, frequency = "auto", trend = "auto",
  message = TRUE)
decompose_stl(data, target, frequency = "auto", trend = "auto",
  message = TRUE)

Does anyone have any experience with this? I tried reading the documentation but I am having trouble understanding it. I am looking for a clear, concise difference between the two.

The only reason why I am asking is because with my dataset, in the anomalize package, using the twitter vs stl method give two completely different results and I want to know how to interpret this.

Any help would be great, thanks!
