My research questions:

  • Is there an effect of the independent variable on the two dependent variables?
  • Is this effect of the independent variable on the two dependent variables stronger for females as opposed to males?

I did a MANOVA for question 1 and it's significant. I did a two-way MANOVA for question 2, taking gender into account, and the interaction isn't significant but the main effects (as the first MANOVA also showed) are significant.

Should I just use the two-way MANOVA then to answer both questions? Or is it misleading to interpret the main effects of a two-way MANOVA when the interaction wasn't sig.?

Thank you
