Can somebody explain me the different types of models for the train function from the caret package in R under the heading "ordinal outcomes"? Specifically, "Adjacent Categories Probability Model for Ordinal Data" , "CART or Ordinal Responses" , and "Ordered Logistic or Probit Regression".

I have an ordinal response variable and predictors that are made ordinal. e.g. the slope is positive, then a 1, the slope is 0, then a 0, if the slope is negative, then a -1.

Kind regards, Mats
