I conducted a survey that asked participants to rate their level of agreement on a 5 point Likert scale with nine items (1=strongly agree, 5=strongly disagree). Hence, a mean score of 3 would mean onsumers are indifferent.

As my data is not normally distributed, I ran a Wilcoxon signed rank test on the data in SPSS. Do i have to use the Bonferroni correction for these 9 items?

  • $\begingroup$ I wouldn't. But you should acknowledge (at least to yourself) that the probability of making a "type I error" across all tests may be greater than 0.05. $\endgroup$ – Sal Mangiafico Apr 22 at 12:38
