I am carrying out an exercise in Principal Component Analysis in Stata. I have created my own rotated factors after carrying out the PCA, and am looking to check the percentage of variance that is explained by these new factors.

pca x1 x2 x3 x4 x5
score f1 f2 *first two factors*
*Carry out the rotation*
 ........

*Generate the rotated factors*
 gen transfact1=a1*f1+a2*f2

 gen transfact2=b1*f1+b2*f2

*Here, a1,b1,a2,b2 are some scalars I had generated*

I would like to know how to obtain the percentage of variance in each of the x-variables that is explained by the new factors, transfact1 and transfact2.
