I am trying to calculate the MSE from interpolating few data points obtained from a sensor. I am considering 100 datapoints and applying 10 fold cross validation to it. For explaining what i am doing i am considering 10 points and their indices are as follows: 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 first i randomise the indices 3 7 5 1 8 9 4 6 10 2 then divide them into folds(here considering 5 folds) 3 7| 5 1| 8 9| 4 6| 10 2 then select the first fold as test data and train using 4 other folds. before training i arrange them in ascending order(for not loosing any time bound information) test=3 7 train=1 2 4 5 6 8 9 10(by training i mean i use these values to interpolate to get the values at indices 3,7) calculate the MSE and repeat for 5 more times for differnt folds as test data. Could anyone please tell if i am doing anything wrong and give me a reference for carrying on. Thank you
