I am reading the excellent statistical software paper found here in this link. The paper is an R implementation of Log-Gaussian Cox processes for spatial point process applications.

Whilst the software demonstrates worked examples as in Section 4.1 of the paper, where several covariates (i.e., fixed effects) are used in the model (please see Table 1 in the paper for list of covariates and estimated coefficients), I am not seeing any examples where random effects are used(for example, structured or unstructured spatial effects). Would anyone familiar by chance with the software know if it is possible to include random effects in its models ? Cheers.
