I’m not entirely sure how to analyze data we have from the following study:

  • We trained three teams of health care professionals of three different palliative care wards

  • We would like to analyze the effects of the training on dichotomous variables which we extracted from patient files of deceased patients, within the hospitals of the three teams.

  • To specify: the patients from the pre measurement are different patients than the patients from the post measurement (they were all deceased).

  • We looked into these (deceased) patient files in the year before and the year after the training

How can I do this (paired/clustered?) pre- post analysis on the dichotomous outcome variables in SPSS? If I understood it correctly: I have to do a McNemar test.

It would be great if you could think along! Many thanks in advance.
