I am planning to run a study looking at self-rated stress caused by a large number of stressors in the workplace (e.g., poor work-life balance, lack of control over schedule, rude clients, etc). There are about 70 individual stressors divided into 7 categories (e.g., work demands, relationship issues). Participants will rate degree of stress caused by each stressor using a likert scale response format.
For the main analysis, I want to look at whether stress scores differ according to the variables 'years of experience' (can be continuous or categorical), 'gender', and 'job category'.
I am not sure which is the best/most appropriate statistical procedure to use and have become more confused as I've tried to research this! Any suggestions would be great. Thank you.
