I am working with a dataset of an online institution that is registered in one country, but has customers from across the world. I am working with a sample period of 5 months in 2022. I am unable to figure out what type of data is this. I will attach a snapshot of first few observations(the values are manipulated for confidentiality). Each observation is unique and its characteristics is mentioned in the respective rows. I am confused if this can be considered panel or cross sectional or even time series. I am confused because there are loans from different countries even though the institution is only registered in one country and the observations are all unique despite the daily data frequency. Kindly advise on this matter.

P.S. I didn't include all characteristics of the loan, but only few important ones. Also, the values are manipulated for confidentiality reasons.

  • $\begingroup$ I think for you purpose it is cross sectional data. The period of time may affect the default rate, but I don't expect you intended to incorporate that into your model. $\endgroup$
