I am a professor at Virginia Tech in Computer Science. I study Computer Science Education, with an emphasis on introductory programming (both for CS majors and non-majors). My research is on introductory computing experiences, supporting learners motivation and cognition. I am very passionate about balancing the gender gap in CS.
