(2) It makes no sense to take a double integral of a one-form as suggested by your formula for $dM$. Apparently by "$dM(u,v)$" Nelsen means the two-form $\frac{\partial^2M}{\partial u\partial v}(u,v)\mathrm{d}u\mathrm{d}v.$ Given that, do you still need help with the example? | |
