Hi Robert! Thanks! That's what I understand. I just don't understand what should be the next step in the analysis. If there's appreciable variation in A between subjects, I guess, I shouldn't drop this fixed effect, and maybe should try to find a source of this variation, e.g. some coasters of participants...
