Nov 18, 2020 at 22:00 | comment | added | Steve | usually I see i referring to the individual in the sample, but does this mean then that i's actual y is determined by the 'structural' effect of x and also i's error, and hence the indexing with i? so basically, does $E[y_i|x_i]$ refer to the expectation of all possible realizations of i's particular y, or is it still the expectation of y across all i's? | |
