Apr 4, 2013 at 14:01 comment added Miles Davis Well, that is the "Doane's formula" you posted ¬¬. Anyway, this can be trivially corrected by using log(n,2) instead of log(n). BUT, the wikipedia entry as well as other sources indicate that the it should be log.

Apr 4, 2013 at 13:27 comment added Miles Davis There is a link to the definition of kurtosis in the wikipedia entry that you posted. Incidentaly, it is the same as the one I posted. It is estimated as the fourth sample central moment divided by the square of the second sample central moment. Please, see my edit for the code.
