The “event study” framework is like a difference-in-differences analysis, but now we’re assessing the effects of a policy before and after its introduction. In other words, we can see how the treatment varies with the time since first exposure to it. If I may ask, were you told to do one or the other, or you just want to know the differences between the two approaches in general?
