Refers to the conditions under which a statistics procedure yields valid estimates and/or inference. E.g., many statistical techniques require the assumption that the data are randomly sampled in some way. Why residual plots are used for diagnostic of glm

You might want to consider using the simulation-based residuals for GLM models, available from the DHARMa package for R (vignette).
