I am a Resource Geologist in the gold mining industry. That means I estimate the quantity and grade of gold mineral resources. My work includes spatial interpolation of grades using methods such as kriging and conditional simulations. A real focus for me is quantifying the risk associated with these models and the very limited data available for the estimation. I am branching out further into Python as I realize the limitations of some of the closed software solutions I have used for the last 20+ years. A real influence for me is the value of the Python community and of communities such as stackoverflow.
